A fire destroyed a vacant mobile home and burned a small section of woods Tuesday afternoon off Baxter Road in Commerce.

The Commerce and Jackson County Correctional Institute fire departments responded to the blaze.

The cause of the fire was not immediately know, but the mobile home was totally destroyed.

The Barro-Jackson Forestry Unit also responded to the scene.
