Prosecutor wants Haggard's bail revoked

A Commerce man could wind up in jail after allegedly violating a court order while awaiting trial in federal court.

The Associated Press reports that federal prosecutors in New York have asked a judge to put Kerry Haggard in jail.

Haggard was arrested last April on allegations that he sold forged vintage horror movie posters over the Internet. He was released on $100,000 bail and ordered to cease operations.

On Monday, however, a U.S. attorney filed a motion alleging that Haggard had recruited someone to sell 81 posters and other items on his behalf. The attorney asked the judge to revoke Haggard’s bail and issue a warrant for his arrest.

Haggard is charged with selling more than $1 million worth of faked movie posters over four years.

Caveat emptor. "Let the buyer beware".

Haggard should have never been charged with a crime. This case should have been in civil court. Sue all you want to but don't tie up criminal courts with such idioticy.
