Hundreds of children will participate in Easter festivities in downtown Commerce Saturday morning, culminating in an Easter egg hunt on the lawn of the First Baptist Church of Commerce.
At 10 a.m., children will gather in the parking lot of Community Bank & Trust’s drive-through lanes to be judged for the best-decorated bicycles, wagons and battery-powered electric vehicles.
At 10:45, the Easter parade will begin at Community Bank & Trust and proceed down Elm Street to the First Baptist Church. Once the parade is over, the egg hunt will begin.
Hundreds of children ages 12-under will dash across the church grounds seeking more than 15,000 candy eggs and scores of prize eggs, which will contain gift certificates from local businesses.
The event is sponsored by Community Bank & Trust, the Commerce Area Business Association and the Commerce Downtown Development Authority.
The Easter Parade has become a Commerce tradition.
