Traffic stop nets suspects in Tennessee homicide

The officer ran the driver’s license information of the driver, a 33-year-old white female, and one of two passengers, an 18-year-old white male and a white female, whose age was not available. Both driver’s licenses came back “not on file.” The other passenger had no identification.

Then the officer entered the vehicle identification number of the Mustang and learned that it had been stolen in Tellico Plains, TN. He asked dispatch to confirm that information, and shortly thereafter received a call from an investigator with the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office, who said the driver is a suspect in a homicide investigation.

The Tennessee officer also reported that the driver had 14 aliases, and that investigators wanted to talk to her and the passengers in connection with the investigation of the driver’s boyfriend, who has been missing since his house burned on April 7.

The officer held all three individuals. The report indicates that as of 3 a.m., the Tennessee investigators were en route to Commerce.
