Over the past month, four new companies have expressed an interest in locating in Jackson County, bringing the total of active tire-kickers to 33 this year.
“That is a really good number,” chamber president Shane Short told his board of directors last Friday morning. “At the end of last year, we were at 46 or 47.”
While there have been no announcements of plants deciding to locate in the county, Short said “at least one” company “is looking really, really good. I hope we will be making an announcement soon.”

That building should have never been built until they had someone to fill it... it's just a waste of money like EJHS.
