Man buys one drink, steals four

The Commerce Police Department is looking for a man who thought he was entitled to four Johnny Bootlegger drinks for buying just one.

Police responded to Ray’s Corner Station, Washington Street, where the store owner showed them a security tape with a shoplifting incident.

The police report said the tape showed a black male coming into the store. He pulled a beverage out of the cooler and put it on a shelf, then took two Johnny Bootlegger alcoholic beverages out, put them in his pants pocket, picked up the first beverage, paid for it and exited the store.

The tape also showed him coming back in, putting two more Johnny Bootleger beverages in his pants pocket and exiting again.

Store personnel could not identify the suspect.
