The Commerce Police Department charged six people — including three generations of one family — with theft by receiving stolen property in connection with a shoplifting/burglary operation that may have spanned several states.
The case broke when police executed a search warrant last Thursday at 358 Spring Street where they found a treasure trove of tools, electronics and other items believed to have been stolen from throughout Northeast Georgia.
That day police removed a trailer filled with hand tools, chain saws, weed trimmers, blowers, saws, drills and other items. They also recovered an old Ford farm tractor stolen in May in Madison County.
This trailer full of allegedly stolen tools and equipment came from the Spring Street residence of three of the suspects.
