The Commerce Police Department has concluded that it “does not have a case” to prosecute regarding an alleged rape reported last week.
City police began the investigation after an Athens hospital called last week to report it was treating an 18-year-old black female who claimed to have been raped at the city tennis courts off Carson Street.

This is the reason that rape victims (real rape victims) are guilty until proven otherwise. I, as a woman, do not understand why other women would want to commit a crime of deception to the Police about being raped. These women that do so should spend atleast 60-90 in jail and it will make them have second thoughts next time they decided to lie to Police about something so serious.

The women who use the false claim should really be punished when it is proven to be a lie. Imagine being the man accused of this terrible act, he will live with this hanging over his head for the rest of his life. Even innocent there will always be some who will always accuse or talk against him because of it and he will never get out from under the suspicion. False claims and accusation of everything happen more often than true crimes. This world is rapidly heading down the drain and too many are just perpetuating the cycle.

I, a woman also, disagree. Women who falsely accuse a man of rape should serve the sentence of a convicted rapist. Why should they get off for 90 days. In her accusation, she can ruin a mans life. That's just as wrong as rape.
