Jackson leaders to look at Murfreesboro, TN, for guidance

Short, who brought up the tour at Friday’s Industrial Development Authority meeting, said Murfreesboro could serve as a guide toward handling population growth.

“Their population as a county doubled during that 10-year period,” Short told the IDA. “But looking at where they were 10 years ago – very similar to Jackson County today.”

Murfreesboro has agreed to host the Jackson County contingent and shine some light on what worked well for it during that boom.

“So we might could learn from another community,” Short said.
