Four people who successfully cashed nearly $6,000 in bogus checks at Fuel Mart, Maysville Road, in late July and early August went to the well one too many times, according to the Commerce Police Department.
Now two of them, Sean Montrace Feaster, 24, and Meagan Victoria Feaster, 20, both of 319 Old Gainesville Highway, Pendergrass, face felony bad check charges. Two other suspects were also named and are subject to arrest.
According to the arrest report, the Feasters and two other men cashed 16 checks at Fuel Mart between July 23 and Aug. 4 for a total take of more than $5,800.
They used checks on two closed Wachovia Bank accounts, one of them formerly owned by Sean Feaster, the report indicated.
But on Aug. 15 at 4:33 a.m., Meagan Feaster allegedly tried to cash yet another check on one of the bogus accounts. The store clerk, who was aware of the bad check history, called an officer, who arrived while she was still in the store.
He arrested her without incident, the report said, then went to her vehicle, where Sean Feaster waited.
The officer ordered him out of the vehicle, the report said. Feaster exited and ran, stumbled, fell, got up and attempted to flee, but the officer tackled him.
Sean Feaster was also charged with obstruction of officers.
