A Clayton Street man learned the hard way that it pays to keep vehicles locked at night after losing more than $1,000 in cash and other items stolen from an unlocked vehicle.
The victim, a 24-year-old white male, did not appear anxious to help police solve the crime, as the written report indicated he did not want police to process the vehicle for fingerprints.
The thief got a Coach wallet valued at $250, $320 in cash, a watch worth $150 and sunglasses worth $350, the report said.
