Commerce will hold its annual fall Cleanup Week next week, Oct. 17-21.
That’s the one time a year that the city’s Public Works Department will haul off materials other than yard wastes from residents’ property — at no charge.
That includes appliances, bedding, carpet, scrap metal, furniture, etc. But there are some items that will not be picked up.
They include construction materials, tires, batteries, paint and paint cans or other hazardous materials.
In addition, only residents may take advantage of Cleanup Week. The service does not apply to commercial property.
Residents should begin placing items for disposal at the road this weekend.
