Young goblins, ghosts, fairies, the dead or maimed and celebrities will haunt the streets of downtown Commerce Monday in the city’s annual Downtown Trick or Treat.
Merchants and other groups will hand out candy to kids 12 and under from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. in the downtown.
There will also be a costume contest. Winners in the categories of best character, best all-around, most original, cutest and scariest will receive gift packages from Gift Works at the Joy Shoppe. That will take place at 5:30 p.m. in Spencer Park.
In addition, the Commerce Police Department will hand out child ID kits from the gazebo in Spencer Park.
“Most of our downtown merchants are participating,” noted Denise McKay, executive director of the Commerce Downtown Development Authority.
McKay said merchants are also being asked to dress up.
Somehow, several comments about Downtown T or T have been posted on the Oct 27, 2010 article about T or T being on Friday.
Get it together!!!
The dates have been posted in the Newspaper, but not updated online - which Mainstreet is responsible for, next year posting an article online earlier will help.
