Officers of the Commerce Police Department arrested a man wanted for aggravated assault in Demorest last week.
Cody Matthew Brock, 22, 3733, Coker Road, Gainesville, was arrested on a warrant from Habersham County.
According to the arrest report, Habersham County put out a lookout for Brock for an assault that caused a serious injury, and a Commerce officer saw the vehicle coming off I-85 at the Maysville Road exit.
The officer followed the vehicle onto Old Bold Springs Road and west on Woods Bridge Road, where it pulled over on the shoulder. By that point the officer had backup and both officers approached the vehicle with guns drawn. Brock surrendered without incident.
Details of the original incident were not available, but the arrest report indicted that there was blood on Brock’s clothing and that Brock reported ditching “the weapon” in the woods behind the residence where the incident took place.
