Still time to enter Commerce Christmas Parade

There is still time to get applications in for the Dec. 4 Commerce Christmas Parade.

The event, organized by the Downtown Development Authority, takes place at 3 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 4. The theme is “Winter Wonderland.”

The parade wraps up the Hometown Holidays Weekend, which features a number of other events.

“The Christmas parade is always a fun event for our town. It is always nice to see the downtown filled with spectators cheering on the parade participants as they ride by,” observed Denise McKay, executive director of the DDA. “We will have marching bands, alpacas, horses, antique cars, Mrs. Claus, and the parade will end with Santa Claus riding atop the Commerce Fire Department’s antique pumper truck! The Christmas parade is always the highlight of the holiday season.”

There is no fee to enter the parade. For an application, call McKay at 706-335-2954.
