Keep Jackson County Beautiful will host Bring One for the Chipper — when residents may recycle their Christmas trees — through Sunday, Jan. 8.

Drop-off locations will be available at the Lanier Tech campus in Commerce, Arcade City Hall, the Hoschton Depot, the Jackson County Transfer Station, the Jefferson Civic Center and the Talmo Depot.

Along with Keep Jackson County Beautiful, Jefferson will offer tree seedlings to those who drop off their Christmas trees at the Jefferson Civic Center on Saturday, Jan. 7, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Commerce residents have another option. They can leave their tree by the side of the road where the brush truck will pick it up and remove it to the old city dump where it will eventually be ground into mulch along with all the other yard wastes collected weekly. The city then gives the mulch away to residents who come pick it up.
