Two Commerce police officers had to diffuse a dispute at Fuel Mart last week between a white male and a black female who, a witness said, were both “being racist.”
According to the incident report, the woman entered the store with her son, a juvenile. The boy dislodged a wooden block used to hold the door open, and a white male customer told the boy to put the stop back.

The manager of the store is so busy playing video games that he couldn't possibly know what went on.You can barely get service there...

I'm going to have to agree with "just curious" and "Margie" on this one. One, this town is full of trashy redneck/ghetto people. It's like no one knows what class is anymore. Nor do they know what an education is. People want to go around yelling racial slurs and threats at each other but no one wants to step up and handle their issues like adults. I've seen children that are more mature than some of the people here. And just as Margie said, when you go into that gas station, 9 out of 10 chances are you're going to have to ASK for service. I've sttod at the counter for almost 10 minutes one day waiting to pay for my items before anyone came out of the back or even attempted to help me. I'm surprised the manager even called the police department at all considering how oblivious they usually are.

Oh, and on another point mention, how did the manager not notice the situation deteriorating from the beginning? It took him so long that they had already left the store, threatened each other, and the woman had time to drive around the building? Also, the woman wanted to castigate the officers for drawing a duty weapon on her minor child after the officers had already told the boy to stay in the vehicle. I'm sorry, but my opinion on that is, if you had raised your children to respect a person in uniform and to comply with the law, your child would not have had their duty weapons pointed at him. If I'm told to stay in the vehicle, chances are I'm going to do what I'm told. That definitely beats the alternative - jail time or gun shot wounds.
