A state representative is introducing a resolution to have singer-songwriter Ricky Fitzpatrick’s song “Highway 98” recognized as the official song of Hwy. 98 between Commerce and Danielsville and to rename the road between Commerce and Danielsville as the "Highway 98 by Ricky Fitzpatrick Highway."
The estimated cost of the dedication is $1,500.

I would be willing to put some $ towards this. Ricky is a great guy and very talented. However, I would like to hear from homes, businesses affected by the change, etc. It costs money to have new letterheads, change of address info, etc. Perhaps this could be done in a way that doesn't impact locals in that area as much. i.e., put up signs recognizing the song, but not changing the mailing addresses.

FYI, even though the portion of Hwy 98 will be designated specially, to my knowledge, no one will need to change addresses or anything...unless of course, they want to indicate the new designation. Hwy 98 will still be Hwy 98. Good point though. Thanks so much for the kind words! We are excited. - RF

Can you do a story on the scam artists that are taking up money for a non-cause in the outlet area intersections? Tonight I saw a cop chase them off. One of the scammers had a Florida tag. I am not referring to the respected Shriner organization.
