EAST JACKSON’S Jeff Chandler completed his late-season run in style, finishing third in the 285-lb. class Saturday at the state meet at Gwinnett Arena.
Chandler dropped to the consolation bracket after a semifinal loss to eventual champion Destry Walker from Cook County, but rebounded with a win over Bradley Rossen from East Laurens and Matt Stone from Pike County. Click here for photos.
“He stepped up at the right time and kept improving as the year went on,” coach Randy Hill said.
East Jackson’s other state qualifier, Garrett Lott (113 lb.), went 0-2 at Gwinnett Arena.
“He had a great season and put in a lot of time to get him to the big dance,” Hill said.
