The Commerce Farmers’ Market will begin its 2012 season Saturday at a new and more convenient location.
Local producers will display plants, baked goods, home-crafted items, fruit and vegetables from 8 a.m. to noon every Saturday in Spencer Park in downtown Commerce.
Since its inception, the event has been held in the track-side parking lot across South Elm Street from the park. Denise McKay, executive director of the Downtown Development Authority, under whose auspices the farmers’ market is held, said the relocation will make shopping market easier.
Candice Romines, one of the vendors, is organizing the 2012 market. For information, she can be reached at 706-335-5397.
