The Commerce Police Department’s drug dog and handler helped with a drug investigation at East Jackson Middle School last week.
According to the Commerce police incident report, the officer went to EJMS on Friday with Roscoe to search for drugs. The report said that Roscoe found no drugs, but did alert on a locker in which police found a jacket that the officer said had been worn while its owner smoked marijuana.

As a parent of an ejms student i would like to make a correction. The commerce officer did help by bringing his dog but the sheriff's office identified and arrested the suspects, not the commerce officer. Just trying to make sure credit is given where its due. Thank you to the jackson county sheriff's office and the commerce police department for all that you did.

"The report said that Roscoe found no drugs, but did alert on a locker in which police found a jacket that the officer said had been worn while its owner smoked marijuana". So the officer could tell that the owner smoked pot while wearing the jacket. Isn't it possible that the owner was around somebody smoking pot instead. Just saying.
