A woman who left items for a yard sale outside overnight wound up losing almost $1,000 worth of merchandise to thieves, according to the Commerce Police Department.
The 32-year-old white female had put the items out for a yard sale on Washington Street with the permission of the owner of the property. When she returned the next day she noticed a washer and drier valued at $200 were missing, along with a TV worth $350, a framed Bob Marley poster valued at $50, a drill worth $300 and a Sheetrock drill worth $75.
The owner of the property told police she woke up at about 1 a.m. that morning to the sound of vehicles pulling into her driveway. She yelled at the visitors and heard a white female tell the others, ‘Hurry and leave before she calls the cops.”
