Should stores in unincorporated Jackson County be allowed to sell alcohol on Sundays?
Voters will make that call on July 31, thanks to action taken Monday night by the Jackson County Board of Commissioners.
The board approved a resolution putting the matter on the ballot at the time of the general primary elections. The issue affects only stores in unincorporated parts of the county. Cities wishing to permit Sunday sales must hold separate votes. So far, Jefferson, Arcade, Braselton and Hoschton have approved Sunday sales.
Voters will be asked two questions: one is whether restaurants with consumption licenses should be allowed to sell alcohol by the drink from 12:30 p.m. to midnight. The other asks if the sale by licensed businesses of alcohol by the package during the same hours should be permitted.
The General Assembly passed legislation authorizing such referenda in the 2011 session.
Ahead of Podunk

Ok People of Jackson here's your chance to get one up on Podunk. They refuse to allow alcohol by the drink at their Banks Crossing, and will refuse to allow the sales (you know those Baptists, don't want to interfere with their Saturdaylate night specials on Bud) on Sunday. Jackson can get one up and ahead of resturants at Banks Crossing.

This person runs his statements about PODUNK in the ground. You would think it is the only word they know. I've got an idea-- why don't you NOT worry about BANKS COUNTY, and why don't you keep your stupid self out of BANKS CO.
