Sometime — presumably in the second week in June — Commerce will officially break ground on the expansion of its library.
At the insistence of city manager Clarence Bryant, the Commerce Library Board agreed Monday night to schedule a groundbreaking ceremony to, as Bryant put it, for the city to “get some kind of positive thing out of” the $2 million, 5,000-square-foot expansion.

Oh, please let them sell coffee! I so need a place in Commerce to sit and drink a cup of coffee while reading a good book! I promise to buy at least a cup or two a week!

I agree! I'm excited about the library expansion and coffee would be a great addition. We are talking about adults...I think they can contain their spills.

Seems like a plausible and enjoyable idea. How about having the coffee/reading area/lounge uncarpeted. Coffee won't be allowed around the computers and copier, so a designated area will surely be considered. That should quiet some naysayers.
