Woodland Circle duo faces felony drug charges

“We had received complaints of possible drug activity there and started an investigation,” explained Ken Harmon, head of the department’s Criminal Investigation Division. “We’d looked into it before and not found anything, but we had more complaints over the last week or so and found what we needed this time.”

Officers executed a search warrant at the house on mid-afternoon Friday. Harmon said that the evidence shows that Thompson and Standridge were dealing prescription medications.

“There was not a whole lot of drugs,” he said. “We found empty prescription pill bottles, various prescription drugs and a ledger where transactions were logged. We found a few loose pills and a couple of syringes that ended up leading to the arrest of the female at the residence.”

Harmon said the prescription bottles came from various doctors and pharmacies throughout the Northeast Georgia area.

“They were all Schedule 2 and Schedule 3 narcotic drugs,” he added.

Harmon said the ledger dealt with accounts receivable and accounts payable, “more of who they owe and who owes them.”

The reckless conduct charge stems from the fact that all of the illegal activity took place in the presence of minor children, according to Harmon.
