A Dacula man faces multiple traffic charges after a Commerce police officer interrupted him in the woods off Steve Reynolds Industrial Boulevard last week.
An officer on patrol saw Dempsey Charpia, 58, 1695 Lake Heights Circle, Dacula, pull off the road onto a dirt path by a "no trespassing" sign in the Commerce 85 Business Park. The officer followed, and found the vehicle backed into the woods.
The officer found Chapia, wearing only shorts, noticed an open beer in the center console and saw that Chapia had difficulty with his balance and had watery eyes, according to the arrest report. Charpia admitted to having a single alcoholic beverage. Inside the vehicle, the officer noted a replica of a male penis, a container of baby oil and several magazines featuring nude males.
The officer charged Chapia with DUI-alcohol, driving with a suspended license, violation of a limited driving permit and violation of the open container law.
