The Jackson County Sheriff’s office reported the arrests of six people recently following “numerous drug investigations” around the county.
They include:
•the recovery and destruction of four-foot tall marijuana plants discovered on vacant property on Skelton Road. No arrests were made, but the investigation continues.
•the arrests of two individuals after firemen discovered a marijuana grow operation while responding to a fire call at 4763 Old Pendergrass Road. Officers charged Thomas Bruce Darling, 58, and Francis Dianne Darling, 58, both of Jefferson, with felony possession of marijuana, criminal attempt to manufacture marijuana and possession of tools for the commission of a crime. Officers also recovered approximately a half pound of marijuana.
•a joint investigation with Anderson County, SC, officials culminating in the execution of a search at 53 Hunters Ridge Road, Jefferson, where officers arrested two people and seized more than a pound of suspected methamphetamine, cash, vehicles and other property. Jose Suarez-Miralrio and Jose Aguilar-Miralrio were transported back to South Carolina where they face federal drug charges.
•the arrest of four people on Plainview Road, Maysville, for drug and/or other charges following the investigation of a domestic dispute. Officers charged Sheena Marie McGonigle, 24, of Commerce, with possession of methamphetamine, cruelty to children and possession of drug-related objects; Edward Casey McGill, 31, Commerce, with possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug-related objects and a bench warrant for failure to appear; Brandon Kraig Hiland, 39, Maysville, with possession of methamphetamine, possession of Schedule 2 drugs, possession of marijuana and possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute; and Charles Tyrus McGill, 28, on a probation warrant from Gwinnett County.
•the discovery by a Georgia State Patrol helicopter team of approximately 30 marijuana plants growing in a wooded area off Diamond Hill Road. No arrests were made, but the investigation continues.
•the discovery by the GSP crew of a single marijuana plant growing behind a residence on Hog Mountain Road. No arrests were made, but the investigation continues.
•discovery during right of way work of approximately 24 marijuana plants growing behind a residence at 6635 Highway 53, residence. No arrests were made, but the investigation continues.
