No arrests were made following an incident where a Commerce man with a prescription pill habit apparently threatened his wife last week.
According to a Jackson County Sheriff’s Office incident report, a deputy responded to a harassing phone calls report where the woman reported that she and her husband got in an argument over his wanting to spend the rest of his retirement money on prescription pills. She said she transferred their money into a separate checking account that he can’t access and he called her at her friend’s house, where he threatened to come over with an undertaker, according to the report.
The husband told the deputy another story. He said his wife was having an affair with another man and when he realized that she took all of their money out of their checking account, he was upset.
The deputy told the man not to go to his wife’s friend’s house or he could face jail time.
