Zachery Ray Hix, 31, 1100 Berea Road, Nicholson, and Ashley Lee Tumlin, 26, 806 D. Williams Road, Commerce, were arrested recently following the execution of a search warrant at their residence.
The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office, along with the Commerce Police Department, executed the search warrant following a lengthy criminal investigation. After receiving information regarding alleged drug activity at the residence, undercover officers made purchases of illegal drugs from the home of Hix and Tumlin, according to Sheriff Janis Mangum.
The search yielded the seizure of illegal drugs, cash, materials used for illegal drug activity, several four-wheelers and an abundance of surveillance equipment.
Hix is charged with three counts of possession of methamphetamine with the intent to distribute, three counts of the sale of methamphetamine, three counts of possession of methamphetamine, possession of a Schedule II drug, possession of a Schedule III drug, possession of a Schedule IV drug, possession of tools for the commission of a crime and misdemeanor possession of marijuana.
Tumlin is charged with three counts of party to the crime of possession of methamphetamine with the intent to distribute, two counts of party to the crime of the sale of methamphetamine, possession of a Schedule II drug, possession of a Schedule III drug, possession of a Schedule IV drug, three counts of party to the crime of possession of methamphetamine, one count of possession of methamphetamine, and party to the crime of possession of tools for the commission of a crime.
The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office also received assistance from the Department of Family and Children Services during the investigation.
