Hundreds of Commerce area children are expected Saturday morning for a longstanding city tradition — a children’s Easter parade through town followed by a citywide egg hunt on the lawn of the First Baptist Church, located at 1345 South Elm Street.
Children are invited to decorate their wagons, bicycles, scooters and electric vehicles for the parade, which begins at the drive-through lanes of Community Bank & Trust, North Elm Street, which is the event sponsor.
Ribbons will be awarded to the best-decorated wagons, electric vehicles and bicycles. Those wishing to be considered by judges should be on hand by 10:15 a.m.
The parade will leave the bank at approximately 10:45, and the egg hunt will begin at the First Baptist Church after all of the parade participants have arrived — at or around 11 a.m.
Egg hunters will be segregated into two groups, according to age: 5-under and 6-up.
