The Commerce Police Department is investigating allegations of child abuse made against the stepfather of a 6-year-old boy.
The boy’s grandfather, a 51-year-old white male, walked into the police department and reported that his grandson had lacerations on each side of his tongue that were caused by his stepfather and took place at a Wesley Way residence.
The man told police he and his wife are the boy’s legal guardians. He also said that they let the boy stay with his mother and stepfather May 29-June 5 and the boy came home with a cut and a bruise on his lower lip, which the boy’s mother said occurred when the stepfather “smacked” the boy.
The grandfather said the boy is receiving counseling and the counselor told him to report the latest incident to the police.
For information on all of the arrests and incidents reported by the Commerce Police Department during the past week, see the July 24 edition of The Commerce News.

That "mother" should also be investigated/arrested because you can be sure she knew this happened. And she'll probably stay with him. This poor child is not living with his grandparents for nothing. Its so sad and disgusting when women put men before their kids.
