An irate South Jackson woman threatened to shoot city of Commerce Gas Department workers if they return to her property, but the men returned and never encountered the woman, according to a Commerce Police Department incident report.
The receptionist at City Hall reported receiving a call from a woman at a New Kings Bridge Road, Athens, address who said she’d seen a city gas department truck pull up to the rear of her trailer. She said she got her 10-gauge shotgun to welcome them, but by the time she did the truck was gone.
She told the receptionist that if the city truck returned, she would shoot them.
Two Commerce Gas Department employees said they did return to check out city gas equipment at the site, did not see the woman and accomplished their task without incident.
