For the second time in four years, the community hospital in Commerce is being sold.
Steve Clapp, president and CEO of Restoration Healthcare, broke the news Monday to staff and employees of Northridge Medical Center that Restoration and Macon-based Community Health Services of Georgia (CHSGa) have signed a letter of intent for the purchase of Restoration’s interest in Northridge and its nursing home.
The process is to be completed by the end of the year. CHSGa is in the process of doing its due diligence prior to closing on the purchase.
Knoxville-based Restoration Healthcare acquired then-BJC Medical Center in March, 2010. Area physicians purchased 22 percent of the 90-bed hospital and 167-bed nursing home located in Commerce.
