A 27-year-old white female told Commerce Police that she was pumping gas at the Fast & Friendly convenience store when a white male friend asked her about money she owed him.
The woman said she went into the store and bought him a pack of cigarettes because she could not repay him, but back at the vehicle she realized she’d won money on a lottery ticket purchased at the same time.
She went back into the store, got her prize money, and returned to find the man standing by the door of her vehicle. He asked her for the owed money, but she said she had to use it to pay the rent and drove off.
As she left, she said the man struck the vehicle with his fist. It caused no damage, but the woman told the officer she was afraid the man would find out where she lived. The officer told her how to get a temporary protective order.
