The Jackson County Planning Commission voiced approval for a rezoning request and special use permit Thursday night for Lisa Crane for a dog boarding and grooming facility.
The facility would be located at 1407 Marlow Road in Maysville if the Jackson County Board of Commissioners approves the request at its Monday, Jan. 20, meeting at 6 p.m.
The 17 acres would be rezoned from agricultural fringe district to agricultural farm district. The special use permit then allows a dog boarding and grooming facility.
The special use permit was granted with conditions. The facility must have a six-foot tall opaque vegetation boundary surrounding where the dogs will be; the facility must also be fenced. Outdoor areas can only be in operation from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. The facility must install noise reduction materials onto the buildings and individual holding areas. The facility must be 100 feet away from property lines.
