The Maysville City Council met Monday night to discuss the upcoming year.
The first major item the council wants to complete in the new year will be the continued renovation of City Hall. High winds in the previous week caused leaks around the windows in the building.
The council approved Withers Home Construction for the repair of the windows and trimming at a cost of $13,420.
The council also plans to paint the exterior of the building.
Another item on the agenda for 2014 is in regard to the new city park. The council expects to hear from the state about possible funding within the month.
“I want to see some progress on that park,” said councilman Scott Harper. “If we don’t get some work done on it, it’ll be so grown up next year that it’ll be like starting over.”
The council also hopes to paint the Maysville Public Library building and to complete the water line project linking First Street to Deadwyler Road.
“If we get all those done, we’ll have a lot of work done,” said Mayor Richard Pressley. “There’s still a lot of work to be done.”
