The Jackson County Board of Commissioners approved a rezoning and special use permit Monday night for 17.72 acres in Maysville for the construction of a dog boarding and grooming facility.
Terry and Lisa Crane, the owners of the property, plan to build a 2,500-square-foot boarding facility to house no more than 50 dogs.
Additionally, the Cranes may build a small structure to board 6-10 cats.
The BOC approved the permit under six conditions:
•There must be a six-foot-tall vegetative structure around the building.
•The facility must be fenced.
•Outdoor areas where dogs will be located will only be open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
•Individual pens must be equipped with noise reduction materials.
•Two noise reduction materials must be installed during construction of the facility.
•The facility must be at least 100 feet from the property lines.
