Suspect's inability to spell last name a tip-off for Commerce officer

Rosales Luis Penaloza, 34, of 1940 Fisher Road, Atlanta, was in enough trouble when he got pulled over for doing 80 on I-85, but telling the officer his name was “Ignacio Osuma” didn’t help things.

That’s when the officer asked for a spelling of the last name, and Penaloza found himself stumped.

In the course of searching the vehicle, the officer recovered a Mexican driver’s license with Penaloza’s real name — and a small plastic bag containing powdered cocaine, according to the arrest report.

Charges included speeding, possession of cocaine, driving without a license and giving false information to police.
