The Downtown Commerce Farmers’ Market will begin on Saturday, May 3, in the parking lot alongside the railroad tracks in front of Spencer Park.
Hours will be from 8 a.m. to noon.
The vendor fee is $25 paid in advance or on the day the vendor arrives. One-day fees of $5 can also be paid, with a maximum of $30 for the entire season.
Local farmers, gardeners or craftspeople with locally-grown or hand-made items are invited. For information and further details, contact Candice Romines at 706-254-2176.
New Downtown Development Authority executive director Jodi McClure told her board last week she’d like to see the market grow.
“I’m really hoping to be able to expand it a little bit,” she said, saying she’s started reaching out to potential vendors of craft items, with the hope of placing tables or booths in Spencer Park.
“The next project is to put it all together and make it a little more substantial,” she said.
