A fire believed to have been caused by a stored lawnmower caused “minor damage” to a 659 Delia Drive, Commerce, residence on Tuesday, April 29.
Firemen from Commerce, Harrisburg and the Jackson County Correctional Institute responded to the residence Tuesday afternoon and found light smoke showing, according to a report released by EMS director Steve Nichols.
The occupants of the residence were home at the time, but no one was injured.
The fire was contained to the basement and quickly extinguished with minor fire and smoke damage to the house. Firefighters were on the scene for a little over an hour.
