Jackson County Comprehensive High School has a new principal.
Pete Jones was named Monday night by the board of education to replace retiring Scott Smith in the principal’s position at JCCHS. Jones is currently an assistant principal at Collins Hill High School in Gwinnett County.
The board also accepted the resignation of Heidi Hill, principal at East Jackson Middle School, who announced earlier that she was taking the job of middle school principal in the Jefferson City School System. No replacement has yet been named for the EJMS principal’s position.
Perhaps the most difficult move for the board Monday night was the approval of 39 resignations and terminations as the system attempts to get its finances in better shape.
