Two people were injured in a head-on collision on U.S. 441 in Nicholson at about 2:00 Wednesday afternoon.
While EMS crews at the scene could not be certain, it was not believed that either victim sustained life-threatening injuries.
A Georgia State Patrol trooper said witness statements indicated that a northbound Ford minivan with Habersham County plates but an East Jackson Comprehensive High School parking permit apparently crossed the centerline into the path of a southbound Toyota Corolla with Gwinnett County plates.
Both vehicles were extensively damaged.
One of the injured was identified is Tabitha Turpin, 31, of Maysville. The identity of the other was not immediately known. Both victims were reportedly transported to Athens Regional Medical Center.
