I understand the price is right, but the thought of unguarded convicts at the rec department makes me a little nervous.

They are unsupervised who have less than a year left usually. If they did anything wrong it would be the dumbest thing possible. Go from less than a year at a PDC to multiple years at a hard core prison.

I agree that it would be one of the dumbest things possible, but if they had a track record of not making dumb decisions they likely would not be in prison to start with.

I live right near the Commerce Civic Center and I see the inmate there almost everyday and he never poses a threat to me or to anyone else. These are people just like everyone else who deserve a second chance at life. Are you underestimating the authority of our government saying that they cannot pick stable people to help maintain the city?

Ok this doesnt make very much sense to me. The Commerce City was under budget how much the last fiscal year and Clarence Bryant said “I’m not sure we can. They want a certified guard, and we’re not going to send somebody to school for eight weeks to get certified.” Why not give someone in the community a job that might need it?
