Commerce back to school movie postponed

The expectation of high winds have caused the Commerce Downtown Development Authority to call off tonight's showing of "Shrek the Third."

The DDA's free back-to-school event was planned for dusk tonight in Spencer Park. Executive Director Hasco Craver made the call to postpone the event at about 2:00 Friday afternoon.

The company providing the inflatable screen expressed concern about the expected high winds, he said.

The event will be held at dusk on Friday, Sept. 19 — an open night for the Commerce Tigers.
