I have friends — and I don’t just mean guy friends — who are fanatic about football. I know not to call them Saturday or Sunday afternoons during the football season. If I do, and if they even hear the phone and answer it, I’ll hear the roar of the fans in the background, like a heavy surf, and the announcer’s voice in the foreground, and our conversation will be punctuated with interruptions while the friend I have called turns away from the phone and talks, via TV screen, to the men on the football field, telling them what to do.

It's just too bad your favorite candidate's positions cannot stand up in the face of logical scrutiny. He's all style with no substance.

After 8 years of a president whose only substance is that of a man on a controlled substance, it will be great to have some style in the White House.

It was when the Obama campaign offered the chance to sign up to receive a text message announcing his VP choice before it was made available to the general public. Otherwise, you would have to stay up until 3am like Susan to find out.
