The East Jackson Lady Eagles got its season started Saturday with a loss in the Wing Slingers Tip-Off Tournament at EJCHS. The East Jackson Eagles saw their 2009 football season come to a close Friday night at the hands of the Lovett Lions, who defeated the Eagles 58-0 in Atlanta. The 2009 Commerce football season ended Friday night, as the gridiron Tigers were knocked out of the postseason in the second round of playoffs by Darlington. Commerce’s Cheer Tigers are back on top with their sixth state championship and first since 2005. Saturday in Columbus, the Cheer Tigers faced off against 15 other Class A schools.
