Trying to shave its operating deficit, BJC Medical Center is closing its labor and delivery services, leaving three doctors scrambling to make alternative arrangements for patients.
Attorneys for BJC Medical Center, answering a malpractice suit filed against it and former surgeon Dr. Keith Ash, say the medical center did not contribute to or cause any of the alleged damages to the four plaintiffs.
