It’s finally over.

True, I write this before the Nov. 4 election, so it is possible that as you read this the lawyers for one of the presidential candidates are instigating a challenge in Florida, Pennsylvania or New Mexico.

For all of the anger and ignorance, for all the meanness and hatred being expressed, I think we have the two best nominees for president we’ve been offered in years.

The local primaries are (almost) over. It’s like a root canal, but the pain lasts longer and is located in another part of the anatomy. It’s nice when it’s gone.
But at least most of our elections were resolved with the primary, so we can turn our focus to the presidential campaign, the highlight of which will be watching the Democrats and Republicans at convention.
