Commerce First Baptist announces VBS
First Baptist Church of Commerce will be hosting Vacation Bible School on June 17-19 from 6-8:30 p.m.
“We’ll be visiting Jesus’ hometown of Nazareth, where we will learn to stand up for our faith among people who doubt that a carpenter is really God’s son. This interactive experience will include music, games, crafts, storytelling, snacks, and, of course, ton of fun,” church leaders said.
Redeemed Baptist to host Redemption Song
Redeemed Baptist Church in Commerce will be hosting Redemption Song Sunday, May 19, at 11 a.m.

Walnut Fork to host BBQ fundraiser
Walnut Fork Baptist Church will host a barbecue plate fundraiser to raise money for missions. It will be held Saturday, May 11, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The cost is $10 per plate and includes pulled pork, baked beans, cole slaw, chips, bread/bun and sauce. Desserts will be sold separately.
Pickup/eat-in.

Commerce First Methodist plans ‘Taps Across America’ event
Commerce First Methodist Church is hosting an event in front of the church called Taps Across America on Memorial Day, Monday, May 27, at 3 p.m.
This is a national Moment of Remembrance to remember all military veterans who died in military service to the United States. Part of this event is the playing of Taps all across the country by many musicians with instruments of all kinds individually or in groups. Details can be found on the website: www.TapsAcrossAmerica.
The church hopes to make this a large group event in Commerce.
“We will have trumpeter to lead the playing of Taps, but would like to have as many other musicians as possible join in at the church. Anyone who has an instrument of any kind is welcome,” organizers said.

New Grove Baptist Church will have a women’s fellowship program on Saturday, May 25, at 2:30 p.m.

Commerce Methodist plans VBS June 2-6
Commerce First Methodist Church will have Vacation Bible School on June 2-6. VBS is for children from 3 years
old through those who have completed 5th grade.
VBS will be held nightly from 5:30-8 p.m. in the church fellowship hall.
A light dinner will be served each evening.
This year’s VBS will be “Seekers in Sneakers: Discover Jesus,” an interactive program where children use their investigative skills to discover Jesus.
“Worship and drama, Bible study, art and science explorations, active games and even geocaching will be experienced so children are invited to follow the example and teachings of Jesus in every place and every part of life,” church leaders said. “So, grab your water bottle, your Bible and your friends, because this is going to be a great adventure! Bring a friend or neighbor!”

Hoschton Church of God plans yard sale
Hoschton Church of God of Prophecy will host a rent-a-spot yard sale on May 18 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
This is a rain or shine event.
Spaces are limited. Tables for rent are available on a first-request basis for $5 each and payment must be received at the time of registration. Twelve-by-twelve spaces are available for $25.

Crossroads Church in Jefferson will offer free groceries for the needy on the second Monday of each month from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

River of Life Worship Center offers free groceries on the last Saturday of each month. The event is held from 8:30-10 a.m.

Jolly Agers meet monthly at First Baptist Commerce
Jolly Agers group meets on the first Tuesday of each month at noon at First Baptist Church of Commerce. Jolly Ages is a senior adult ministry for those 50 years of age and older.
The group meetings in the Fellowship Hall at FBCJ for a covered dish luncheon and an inspirational program.
WMU meets at First Baptist Commerce
The WMU meets every second Tuesday of the month at First Baptist Church of Commerce.
“Come join the Bible study, fellowship and fun,” organizers said.

Commerce First Methodist hosts pickleball on Tuesdays
Commerce First Methodist Church hosts pickleball every Tuesday at 4 p.m.
The church court is indoors, located in the gym inside the Family Life Center.
Players of all levels from beginners and up are invited to come play. The church has paddles for use by those that do not have them.
